An hour here, an hour there…

An hour here, an hour there…

So plant your own gardens and decorate your own soul, instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.

Jorge Luis Borges

Last weekend with the car for a while… more soil and some bits and pieces. Gardening without a car isn’t exactly practical…
Not much happening just yet – it’s still cold, or more than anything, windy – but small, steady steps toward spring. Trellises for the raised beds, almond potatoes set out for sprouting (just need to cover them up later – I’ve got a second batch for a couple weeks from now…). The mint is back in the pots. There’s still some frost in the forecast, but just a few nights and only just below zero, so they should manage. I know they survived winter – whether they’ll look nice again… that remains to be seen.

And besides that… it was Milano-San Remo. The neighbor’s new kitten escaped. I put together a 120-minute spin class. And cleaned… productive day 🙂

Most importantly… first cup of tea on the deck for 2019!
