The thermometer said 8°C. The sun on the deck said summer, but the wind whispered that it’s still only spring. And the night is bringing frost.
I sowed different types of lettuce and nasturtiums – as long as they haven’t sprouted yet, it should be fine. If they do, I’ll be on frost-watch. The sensor is sitting right next to the sowings.
Even with my fleece on most of the day, the sun was warm, and I wandered back and forth between work and the garden the whole day. Teacup in hand, of course.

Today’s sowing session ended up quite extensive:
- Spinach – Viking (tray)
- Rocket – Fireworks (Ø29 bowl)
- Purslane (Ø29 bowl)
- Wasabi rocket (Ø29 bowl)
- Loose-leaf lettuce (tray)
- Little Gem (mini greenhouse outside)
- Dwarf nasturtium “Tom Thumb” in a small white pot
- Leaf dill “Bouquet” in the herb planter
- Spring onion “Long White Ishikura” in a row between the red onions
- Squash F1 “Round Beauty” — 4 seeds in a mini greenhouse in the living room
- Sweet peas “Black Knight” & “Royal Navy Dark Blue”
Also repotted the basil and picked out 10 hollyhock seedlings to bring to work…
A nice chat with the neighbor who has the plot across from mine.

Finished the day by baking bread. Quite pleased — and that’s before I’ve even tasted it. 🙂
