A little trip across the road… and home came gooseberries and strawberries. The gooseberries went into the perennial bed to add a bit of height… and in the far end, I planted the mock orange. I also brought six little strawberry plants to fill up and freshen things up.
The cold is holding on. This morning the thermometer read -6.4°C. But in the afternoon, when the sun hits the deck and the recent NW wind dies down, it can be up to 18-20°C out there…
Just a couple more cold nights, then it should turn.
Thank goodness for the little garden that waits so patiently for me to come home…
Do we plant a garden because we believe in tomorrow?
Or maybe it’s the other way around—maybe we plant it just to get through tomorrow.
