Lunch in town and coffee on the deck…
First half of the day: rain. Second half: sunshine. Took a morning trip into the city for lunch with a fellow instructor, and by the time I got home, the sun was back. On the way home, a hefty hedge trimmer and a small rake hitched a ride with me from Hornbach. But once I tested the new hedge trimmer, it was clear – it’s too heavy for me. Switched back to the old one for most of the hedge.
It was a good buy still, the new hedge trimmer handles extend, which works great for the top; finally, I can reach all the way across.
Right in the middle of it all, my neighbor and her little guy showed up with hammock snacks. Turned out he’s a bit of a watermelon-and-Netflix monster, turned down the cake… :p
The grown-ups had cake (and watermelon)…
The sugar kick made it much easier to finish the last stretch of hedge for the day!

And pea flowers… aren’t they the most exquisite little things?
