A garden is a friend you can visit any time.

A whole long day spent out in the garden. I tidied up both the perennial bed and the raised beds. Planted out a few more tomatoes, lettuce, musk mallow, globe thistle… Pulled out a lot of nasturtiums—too greedy, choking out the rest. And full of aphids. Some things just have to go.
It’s like cycling, somehow. Time slips past. You forget the hours, forget yourself. Thoughts come and go. Afterwards, you don’t remember what you thought about – only what your hands made.
Also managed to weed under the hedge, along the perennial bed. The new grass can finally handle me crawling around on it.
Swapped in a bit of cosmos instead. Messed around on the deck and sowed some new Half Pint peas.

And for dinner, a thinning harvest of red onion and carrots. Sweet and earthy – perfect.
