You’re never alone, Half Pint. Not ever.
Charles Ingalls
Pea-baby leaves (Half Pint) with raindrops… These are destined to become peas, all cute in their pot. I also sowed some fresh pea shoots – not for peas, just to be tasty in a salad. The radishes are sprouting too. Not anywhere near ready, but when I thinned them out, I tasted the little roots… Yum…
Raked up another basket of hornbeam leaves – and found 4 or 5 slugs hiding underneath! Tiny ones, but the first I’ve seen this year… Now they’re here. Time to start the evening slug patrols. Too bad the neighbors don’t do the same… 🙁
And as evening came… row covers, blankets, and fleece. If SMHI’s right, this is the last frost night for a while – but I’ll keep covering things a few more nights. As long as the forecast says 4–5?°C or under, you never know what’ll happen, and the tiniest frost wipes out Malabar spinach…
That lovely warmth vanished when May showed up… The weather’s all over the place.
