Things might get a little weird around here for a while—I stumbled upon this book:
Fantasy Genesis: A Creativity Game for Fantasy Artists by Chuck Lucas.
It’s based on a series of dice rolls and word lists that throw all kinds of unexpected prompts your way.
The idea is to combine random, everyday elements – like a caterpillar, seashells, fire, or a hammer – into strange, whimsical, sometimes grotesque, and totally original creations.
There are four prompt categories: basic, object & weapon, creature, and humanoid.
Today I gave it a shot:
- An object with the shape of a deep sea fish and the texture of cobblestones
- A weapon inspired by the shapes of a pronghorn, wildflower, and molten lava

What is it?
No idea 🙂
And that’s exactly the point—it doesn’t have to make sense.
As long as I keep drawing, it works.
Hopefully a great way to sharpen both my skills and imagination.
