Back to the Garden!

Back to the Garden!

Got home from work and thought I’d just lounge in the sun for a bit. Well… ended up planting out my Queen Anne’s Pocket Melon, two plants, and my three Malabar spinach plants. It really shouldn’t get any colder now…
(Also had a momentary brain freeze… forgot the bokashi. Lucky I buried it deep!)

By the way, stopped by Hornbach to get fertilizer for the lawn… it still hasn’t recovered from last year’s drought. I guess that’s no surprise, since I usually leave the little clippings as food, but I hardly mowed at all last year, so it’s time to give it a little boost. If SMHI is right, it’s supposed to rain Friday night and most of the weekend, so Friday evening I’ll be feeding the lawn! Looking forward to mowing the grass while my crazy upstairs neighbor’s having dinner! Haha, she hates the lawnmower! Sweet revenge… She’s totally lost it! I’m longing for a full night’s sleep, without 3-5 very noisy interruptions from her.

From Hornbach, a new chili plant accidentally came back home with me, “Starflame.” It’s an Annum variety with ten-centimeter long yellow fruits. Pretty mild. It’ll replace my Scotch Bonnet, which didn’t turn out. Not quite the same thing, but better luck next year.

I also found little sprouts of Diana radish (planted on Maundy Thursday!) and spring onions while I was walking around measuring the soil temperature.
12-13°C, still a bit more to go before I can plant the beans…

Oh, and there’s already wildfire… And apparently there’s a open fire ban in Bohuslän. In April…
